Gary McKinnon
British hacker who broke into roughly 97 U.S. military and NASA computers in 2001-2002 using blank-password exploits, searching for evidence of UFO technology and free-energy suppression. Says he found a spreadsheet titled "non-terrestrial officers" and a NASA satellite image of an unidentified cigar-shaped object before being disconnected; his hard drives were seized and never returned. Faced a U.S. extradition request carrying up to 70 years; UK Home Secretary Theresa May blocked the extradition in October 2012, citing risk to his mental health.
