Gateway Process
"Analysis and Assessment of Gateway Process," a US Army INSCOM memorandum of 9 June 1983 on the Monroe Institute's Hemi-Sync technique, written by Lt Col Wayne M. McDonnell on tasking from his commander and released to the public by the CIA in 2003. Its conclusion at printed page 26 is that "there is a sound, rational basis in terms of physical science parameters for considering Gateway to be plausible in terms of its essential objectives," reasoning throughout from Karl Pribram's and David Bohm's holographic model of mind and from Itzhak Bentov's biomedical models. THE REPORT DOES NOT STOP THERE, and this map understated it until the whole document was read on 24 August 2026. The same paragraph opens a lettered programme of recommended experiments that runs from Hemi-Sync tapes and autohypnotic suggestion through to deliberate out-of-body work: a "multi-focus approach" using three viewers to collect on one target from time-space, Focus 15 and Focus 21 at once; an instruction to "be intellectually prepared to react to possible encounters with intelligent, non-corporal energy forms when time-space boundaries are exceeded"; and a proposal that groups in Focus 12 "unite their altered consciousness to build holographic patterns around sensitive areas to repulse possible unwanted out-of-body presences." It is one officer's assessment and it says so - "this study is certainly not designed to be the last word on the subject" - and it must not be cited as the Army's position.

RENAMED 24 August 2026. It read "Gateway Process (1983 CIA Report)". Two things were wrong. The report is a DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY memorandum from US Army INSCOM, signed by LTC Wayne M. McDonnell, 9 June 1983 - the CIA released it in 2003 and did not write it. And the bracketed suffix made the node unmatchable by the catalogue relation, so it could never be attached to any document that named it, including its own report. Both fixed by using the name the document itself prints in its subject line.
Recategorised from "incident" to "gov" on 26 August 2026. It is a document, not an incident: cat "incident" had become the destination for anything with no affiliation, and 18 of the 29 nodes in it were documents, programmes, concepts or patterns whose own `form` field already said so. The destination is read from this node's own role text, which says "US Army INSCOM memorandum".
REWRITTEN 24 August 2026, after PDF 3-29 of cia-rdp96-00788r001700210016-5 were transcribed in full at 165 dpi. The previous text was accurate as far as it went and stopped at the word "plausible"; the report's recommendations continue for another page and a half and are the part a reader would be surprised by. Every quotation above is from printed pages 26 and 27, except the last, which is from PDF 2 and was already held. NOTE: printed page 25 is missing from the scan, so the run of paragraphs between 34 and 37 is not held and nothing here rests on it.
