N.A. Kozyrev

Soviet astronomer. In May 1967 a US astrophysicist spent a month visiting Soviet observatories, and a CIA information report on that trip states that "The US scientist's main visit was to N.A. Kozyrev, who was very interested in the problem." The report records that Kozyrev had read Donald Menzel's book, "which has been translated into Russian", but "did not accept his conclusions"; that he "knew of some sightings in the northern part of the USSR, but said that reports of such sightings are not printed in Soviet newspapers because they are not regarded as scientific observations"; and that he "has been interested in US reports of UFO's and readily accepts their reality." The report adds that it is "his personal opinion that the UFO's may originate on Venus". THIS MAP TAKES NOTHING ELSE FROM HIS BIOGRAPHY. The reporting officer's own comment calls him "a controversial figure in the Soviet scientific community as well as internationally".

In the UAP recordRuled by hand on 4 September 2026 when this entity was created. A CIA information report on UFOs in the USSR describes him as the main scientific visit of the trip and records his position on the reality of the reports. Nothing else about him is imported.
