Paul Alfred Biefeld

1923-01-01 – 1943-06-21at Denison University, to his death

German-American astronomer and physicist (1867-1943); professor of astronomy and director of the Warner and Swasey Observatory at Denison University in Granville, Ohio, from 1911 until his death. Thomas Townsend Brown was briefly his student there, and the term "Biefeld-Brown effect" came from their reported collaboration on charged-capacitor thrust. Caveats worth noting: Brown attended Denison only about a year and the university's records show no evidence of joint Biefeld-Brown experiments, and the oft-repeated claim that Biefeld studied alongside Einstein appears overstated - the two were at most passing acquaintances at ETH Zurich.

In the UAP recordRuled into the unidentified-phenomena thread on 3 September 2026 by reading this entity's record, after the automated screen proposed "neither" for it. The screen's "neither" only means that no term from its vocabulary fired; the deciding phrase here is this entity's own: "Warner and Swasey Observato". An editorial classification of which thread this entity belongs to; it rests on no page and does not claim to.

Notes on this record

The end date, and how it was established

Verified 2 September 2026 against Wikipedia, "Paul Alfred Biefeld", fetched that day: birth "22 March 1867", death "21 June 1943". The death matches the end recorded here to the day. CORROBORATED BY THIS NODE'S OWN TEXT, which already said so twice - the role opens "German-American astronomer and physicist (1867-1943)" and continues "from 1911 until his death", and the date_label reads "at Denison University, to his death". RECORDED GRADE: fetched secondary source, not a primary document read by eye. It is recorded so a reader can check it, and it is the same grade as the fourteen death dates already on this map.
