Robert Maxwell
British media mogul and Ghislaine Maxwell's father, long alleged (notably by Seymour Hersh) to have had ties to Israeli intelligence (Mossad). His 1991 death at sea and reputed intelligence links are a cornerstone of the theory that the Maxwell-Epstein orbit was intelligence-connected - a widely repeated but unproven claim. The FBI did investigate him: its file, released under FOIA, captions a foreign counterintelligence technology-transfer inquiry into Pergamon International's purchase of Information on Demand, Inc. and possible access to U.S. Government databases. Every field office returned negative findings and the case was closed in August 1984. Epstein is not named in the parts of that file reviewed here.
