Codename ("scan by coordinate") for the CIA's initial 1972 remote-viewing project at Stanford Research Institute - the birth of the U.S. government's psychic-spying effort. Launched after Ingo Swann demonstrated coordinate remote viewing under Hal Puthoff; Pat Price became an early star viewer. It grew into the two-decade Grill Flame / Star Gate program.

Caveat THIS IS AN ASSESSMENT, NOT AN ORIGINAL RECORD. The document is INSCOM's 1984 security review of Ron McRae's book "Mind Wars". The sentence quoted sits in paragraph 3, the list of statements the reviewer determined as "having a high reliability for truth" - so what this establishes is that the Army's CENTER LANE project officer judged the published claim highly reliable in May 1984. It is not a contemporaneous record of the project it describes, and no page of an original SCANATE file is behind it. AND THE DATE IS NOT IN THIS SENTENCE. The document supports "run by SRI-I"; it says nothing about 1972. The year on this link remains unsourced.
