Green mass over Sary Shagan (1973)

One paragraph inside a CIA Intelligence Information Report whose subject is otherwise Soviet SA-2 and ABM-1/GALOSH warhead handling. The source - who worked checking warheads at the range - stepped outside during a televised Canada-USSR sports match one evening in late summer 1973 and "observed an unidentified sharp (bright) green circular object or mass in the sky", west of the site at about 70 degrees elevation. "Within 10 to 15 seconds of observation, the green circle widened and within a brief period of time several green concentric circles formed around the mass. Within minutes the coloring disappeared. There was no sound, such as an explosion, associated with the phenomenon." The report adds that the source "had no opinion as to what this phenomenon was" and that there were "no resultant rumors". IT IS HERE BECAUSE OF WHAT IT SITS BESIDE: a green object of unexplained kind, over a nuclear-weapons installation, on the other side of the Cold War from the New Mexico green fireballs.

In the UAP recordThe report heads the paragraph "an unidentified phenomenon at Site 7".
