Harold Brown

1966–2019

Secretary of the Air Force who announced the selection of the University of Colorado to conduct the Condon Committee's independent UFO study in 1966, following Gerald Ford's push for a congressional investigation. Later served as Secretary of Defense under Jimmy Carter (1977-1981). After leaving the Pentagon, was a partner at private equity firm Warburg Pincus for 17 years and served as a corporate director for over a dozen companies including IBM, Cummins Engine, and Philip Morris/Altria, alongside a 36-year run as a RAND Corporation trustee.
