AAWSAP
A Defense Intelligence Agency programme, initiated by DIA scientist James Lacatski and performed under contract by Robert Bigelow's company BAASS, that is named under oath in two of the four congressional UAP hearings this project holds. Luis Elizondo testified in November 2024 that he joined it around 2009, that it "evolved into the program now called AATIP", and that the GOFAST, GIMBAL and FLIR videos came out of that effort; he testified separately that documentation cleared by DoD prepublication review states that one of the programme's purposes was to collect material of unknown origin, and that an attempted transfer of such material from an aerospace contractor was blocked. George Knapp testified in September 2025 that Lacatski initiated it, that it is "the largest acknowledged UFO program ever funded by the U.S. Government", that he handed his Soviet Ministry of Defence material to Bigelow and Lacatski under it, and that DIA has still not released 95 percent of what it produced. THIS NODE MATTERS TO THIS MAP FOR A REASON NO WITNESS STATES: BAASS, the company that performed this contract, retained Hal Puthoff as a contracted science advisor, and Puthoff ran SRI's remote-viewing programme from 1972. Both of those facts are held here on their own evidence. Nobody joins them in a hearing, and this project does not join them either - the connection a reader can follow runs through BAASS, one link at a time, which is what a map is for.

THE RECORD SPELLS THE EXPANSION THREE DIFFERENT WAYS AND NONE OF THEM IS TAKEN FROM A WITNESS. At the 2025 hearing George Knapp gives "Advanced Aerospace Weapons Systems Application Program"; at the 2024 hearing Michael Gold gives "Advanced Airspace Weapon Systems Applications Program", which is wrong in its second word. The alias carried here is the form used in the Defense Intelligence Agency's own solicitation and in the secondary literature, and it is recorded as an alias rather than as the name precisely because the held pages disagree with each other. The acronym is the only form every witness agrees on, so the acronym is the name.
THE START DATE IS THE YEAR, NOT A DAY. Neither hearing dates the programme. 2008 is taken from the contract period already recorded on this map for BAASS, the company that performed the work, and is carried at 1 January because this schema needs a day. No end date is asserted: Elizondo testified that AAWSAP "evolved into the program now called AATIP" and nobody on a held page says when, or whether, it stopped being one thing and became the other.
