House Symposium on UFOs (1968)
Symposium held 29 July 1968 by the House Committee on Science and Astronautics in room 2318 of the Rayburn Building, convened by Rep. J. Edward Roush. Six scientists testified - Hynek, McDonald, Sagan, Robert L. Hall, Harder and Baker - and six more submitted prepared papers, including Menzel, Stanton Friedman, Sprinkle, Shepard, Salisbury and Henderson. Roush opened by saying the committee took no stand and was there to listen and learn; full-committee chairman George Miller stated it was not a criticism of the Air Force.
