William A. Davidson Jr.
Career Air Force Office of Special Investigations officer (NRO chief of polygraph in the 1970s) whom Under SecAF/NRO director Pete Aldridge tasked in 1985 to design the Air Force's black-program oversight mechanism. He stood up and led SAF/AAZ, became deputy administrative assistant (1990), then administrative assistant to the SecAF (1994); the RCO reported to him. A primary source (2018 interviews) for the Air Force's own history of SAF/AA.
