Director of the Los Alamos Laboratory during the Manhattan Project; named and oversaw the July 1945 Trinity nuclear test, the event AARO's official historical review of UAP uses as its starting point. Later credited (with Einstein) as co-author of a widely disputed 1947 document on extraterrestrial contact.
